Employment Services
PSU employment staff provide services, through both Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities, to assist individuals with obtaining and maintaining employment in their community. Our employment staff are Certified Employment Support Professionals (CESP) that work with individuals and teams to identify employment interest, define employment parameters, and assist with locating and negotiating with employers.

Job Seeking Skills
Helping individuals develop those skills necessary to obtain competitive employment, such as writing a resume, interviewing and personal presentation.
Career Exploration, Discovery & Planning
Assisting individuals to discover what kind of job they would like to have and then find competitive, integrated employment or career advancement in individual, competitive, integrated employment.
Job Development & Coaching
Job Development is assisting individuals in preparing for, securing and maintaining gainful employment. Job Coaching is helping individuals learn, accommodate and perform their work duties and interpersonal skills.
Job Retention
Job Retention is support to maintain employment, grow and advance and become independent in employment.
Group Employment Services
Group Employment consists of several employees working with a supervisor from PSU at a job site in the community. These jobs may include lawn care, janitorial, and manufacturing work. PSU has contracts with local businesses to provide needed onsite services while offering paid work experience at a community job site to improve employees’ job skills in preparation for individual competitive employment.
Vocational Habitation Services
Our Work Center is a training facility that allows employees to develop job skills and soft skills needed for community employment while earning a paycheck. PSU holds many contracts with local and international businesses to provide steady work and income source.
Community-Based Assessments
A Community Based Assessment (CBA), done at local businesses, provides an exciting opportunity for the people we serve to explore career areas of interest and gain new employment skills through vocational training. The CBA identifies an individual’s strengths, skills and potential barriers to employment. This helps PSU guide individuals down a successful career path that will lead to greater independence.
A.I.M. (Adult Integration in Motion)
PSU strives to support individuals while encouraging them and helping them build meaningful relationships in their communities. We offer a variety of opportunities for individuals to have experiences in their community and develop connections with other community members.

Are You An Employer?
PSU can help solve your staffing and production problems. We offer supervised training at no cost to employers and an on-site Job Coach for as long as is needed. We can also provide a employment group working under our supervisor at your place of business.
